I searched for a recipe I liked, but I couldn't find one, so this is my own delicious version, spiced up with ginger, fruit juice, red pepper, and a little Southern Comfort! - Prep and place juice, garlic, ginger, pepper flakes, brown sugar, ketchup, soy sauce, vinegar, and chicken in large mixing bowl. Stir to combine thoughly.
- Heat large skillet over medium heat.
- Pour contents of bowl into heated skillet. Cover and simmer until Chicken is fully cooked.
- In a small bowl mix six tablespoons milk with one tablespoon corn starch. Evenly drizzle milk mixture over chicken. Stir gently to combine. Allow to sauce to thicken.
- Toss with green onions.
- Serve over rice, rice noodles, potatoes, or as a side.
The recipe includes soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger, and bourbon whiskey in the base, and the chicken is marinated in this sauce. Adding water and soy sauce to the chicken (especially true if using chicken breast) results in a moist and tender chicken experience!
